I can't believe I haven't posted on this blog for so long. I have been busy doing a fantastic online photography course run by Cheryl Johnson (Feel Good Photography) . I've learned soo much. Here are a few of my photos....

Happy Birthday To Me :)

Today I am 36. Went out for lunch at my favourite pub and had some great prezzies, including a troll bead bracelet and series 1 of the Muppet Show from DH and DDs and a fluffy Highland coo from my mother and a matchbook album from Tracy.

Also had a lovely email from my bestest friend from junior school who I haven't seen since I was 10 :)

Been on Holiday

Just got back from holiday. We went to the beautiful Orkney Islands. There is so much history there. There are neolithic villages and tombs and Palaces of Viking Earls. Incredible beaches and Standing Stones. Wildflowers everywhere and great scenery.

Flood

We had a terrible storm last night, during university challenge (humpf) and all the rain rushed down the length of our road like a river and into our garage:(It got up to about 6 inches deep and nearly got in the house which is tagged on the back of the garage. In the side passage it was halfway up to my knees. Our neighbours helped us to sweep the water back up to the drain. Have spent all day up to now sorting through the damage. Nothing vital was lost but we had to individually dry out my mothers photo collection (she lives with us). It was her birthday yesterday too :(Garage is mostly dry now, but everything from it is drying all over the kitchen and we can hardly move and all the bins are full of what we couldn't save. There's this strange patch in the lawn where it looks like the turf was lifted up from underneath. I am so worn out, phew. Still it could have been much worse.

A Weeds and Wildflowers LO

Gina Marie Huff at Weeds and Wildflowers has created a kit called 'Going in Circles' its packed with circle shapes cut from all sorts, and doodles and stitches to match. Here is a layout I've made using them with a photo I took last December in Edinburgh.

Last Day at Pre School

Today was DD2s last day at Pre School :(
It's gone so fast. It only feels like yesterday she started going.

Weeds and Wildflowers new kits

Heidi at Weeds and Wildflowers has launched some new stuff perfect for summer. The papers and alpha are called 'Summer Bright', and there's also 'Bunches of Buttons'. The buttons are incredible, you get 2 shapes of flower, stars, round and arrows each in plain and grungy in a range of colours and you get fantastic 'threads' to 'stitch' them on your page!!
