Play Days
This is a new kit from Createwings and Holliewood Studios at Oscraps, I don't CT for them (would love to though) but I couldn't resist this kit and had to use it straight away. The photos are some oldies of the girls.

It's Finally Finished (and only a couple of months late)
I have been following Shimelle's Scrap Your Day class. Idea is that on the 25th of every month you take photos of your day and scrap them in a book. This started back in April 2008 and ran for 1 year finishing in March of this year. I kept up with the photo taking but not with the scrapping, but today I can finally announce that I'm done!
I tackled this as a hybrid project using papers from the Funky Playground collab kit 'Funtastic' from April 08, Together Alpha by Kim De Smet and the little bird on the cover is by Kate Hadfield.
It has been wonderful to look back over a year and see the changes, just the little things from our everyday lives.

Inspired By....
Always an inspiration Dan99's blog featured a mixed media piece that he was inspired to make after buying the book "Taking Flight" by Kelly Rae Roberts. Having done some further research I decided to buy this book too and before I knew it I was at the kitchen table surrounded by my old art school materials, a pile of scrapbook paper leftovers, some distress inks and an old printed canvas that I'd salvaged from the boot of my friends car as she was on her way to the dump.
A couple of hours and a lot of painty, inky mess later...

Really enjoyed that and will definitely try this again!

Long Live Morris Dancing
Never thought I'd say that out loud! Yesterday my daughters went to a retirement village to do Maypole dancing, the afternoons entertainment also included the crowning of the May Queen (Zoe's friend) and her attendants (including Kitty!), bonnet competition and Morris Dancing from the Stafford Morris Men. I have to say we really enjoyed it. All at once it was like going back in time - made us feel all 'Larkrise to Candleford' ish. Brilliant, and long may that tradition last.

Not sure what Morris Dancing is?
Wiki says..
A morris dance is a form of English folk dance usually accompanied by music. It is based on rhythmic stepping and the execution of choreographed figures by a group of dancers. Implements such as sticks, swords, and handkerchiefs may also be wielded by the dancers.
